How to care for merino?

We always recommend washing clothes in a suitable wool detergent before first use. Especially if you choose a detergent with lanolin, the clothes are immediately softer and do not bite. When washing clothes for the first time, wash them separately or with similarly coloured garments, as the colour may be released, causing staining of otherwise coloured clothes.

Clothes can be washed in the washing machine using the wool programme at 30°C. Use only wool detergent and wash the garment inside out. Never add fabric softener or bleach to your washing machine, which can damage your favourite clothes. Do not use the dryer, hang the clothes out to dry. This care will keep your garment in beautiful condition.

Do not delay the removal of more significant stains, we recommend pre-washing as soon as possible using bile soap in cold water.

Merino wool is a very fine natural material and its durability is affected by the way and intensity of use. Merino from Cosilano has no treatment and thus retains the maximum of its natural properties. Clothes need to be washed really gently. On 100% natural material with no chlorine or polymer treatments, it can tend to make streaks in stressed areas.
